FRIENDS OF KISIMIRI is also active in the field of further education for primary school teachers in the region. Together with the Group for Educational Co-operation (PEZA/ECOP), which is part of the Swiss Teachers' Association (LCH), it ran courses on environmental education and English in Arusha from 2000 to 2003. Meanwhile the Group for Educational Co-operation (PEZA/ECOP) has been dissolved. The education programme, however, is being continued and has reached the "grassroots" phase under the auspices of the "Fachhochschule Zug" and the Tanzanian Teachers Union (TTU) with financial support coming from the Swiss NGO HELVETAS.
